Room 19 & 24's - Junior Assembly

The Assembly theme is sharing our learning about 'Day and Night'.
It's Winter time, so we have been using descriptive language to write stories and poetry about the stormy weather.
Room 24 shared their learning about shadows and the rotation of the sun.
Room 19 learnt about Matariki, the Maori New Year. We made pictures illustrating Matariki, the seven sisters (stars) shining above Rangitoto.

  1. Wow, your Matariki paintings look like beautiful shining stars. We remember doing Matariki artwork not so long ago, we made a sunset with die and then glued stars onto it. You must of been brave to show your artwork at your assembly! Did anyone in your class celebrate Matariki?
