              Room 19 wrote some recounts about their Museum Trip.

A Recount is a story that is written in the past tense. It has an orientation (beginning), sequence of events (events in order) and personal comment (writing about our feelings).

When we went to the museum I liked the insects. They were cool. I loved the museum. I liked the bus ride too. I liked all of the insects, but the best one was the tree weta. I saw two tree wetas and I saw a female weta too. I felt happy when we went to the museum.

All the year two classes went to the museum on the bus. When we got there we ate morning tea. Then we went to the army area. We saw the dinosaur bones. We saw the female giant weta and we got to see the butterflies. We got to put on the lab jackets and the safety glasses. I hope to go there again.

The Amazing, Wonderful Museum Trip!

W.A.L.T: Write a recount

On Tuesday, 8th of March all the Year 2’s went to the Auckland Museum to learn about insects. The classes had fun. The year 2’s saw the  bones of the dinosaurs. Our group saw the mummy and the volcano too. My favourite part was the treehouse.

After lunch, the class walked to Weird and Wonderful to learn about  insects; like moths, wetas, butterflies and ladybirds. I liked the Museum and I felt happy because the giant wata was big, very big. The trip was fun.

On Tuesday, 8th of March room 19 and all the year 2’s went to the museum to learn about insects. To get to the museum we all went on a cream and maroon bus. Then when we got there we ate morning tea. Next we explored the museum, Oliver and Finlay and I went to watch the volcano movie. We went inside the house to watch the volcano movie and Oliver was scared. After lunch I went to weird and wonderful. We saw insects and there were open draws and there were colourful butterflies in the draws. Then we moved to activities, and after that we went back to school. I was happy watching the volcano movie.

On Tuesday, all the year 2’s went to the Auckland Museum to learn about insects. My Mum was a helper. My Mum was in our group. Our group saw an aeroplane above us. We went to the Volcano movie, it was kind of scary. I liked the Museum trip.

On the 8th of March the year two classes went on a big maroon bus to the Museum. We had morning tea then we went to see the tree house. We saw the huge elephant. Then we went to the aeroplanes. Next we went to the old house and it was my favourite thing. At the end we went to the Weird and Wonderful area. We got to look into a microscope to see the bees and beetles, stick insects and dung beetles. I felt excited.

TRIP TO THE MUSEUM

Last Tuesday all the year two’s went to the Museum. We went to the museum to learn about insects. We had morning tea. After morning tea we went to explore. I saw a tree house with a scary monkey inside. After that we had lunch. After lunch we went to Weird and Wonderful to learn about insects.

I learnt about insects and spiders. Did you know spiders are not insects? We did some activities and I saw some computers. I felt very happy because it was an adventure.

The sharks were scary.My group walked all the way to the treehouse.Our group climbed up the ladder. I had lunch and then we went into weird and wonderful we learnt a lot. What the biggest spider was. At the classroom.We got to look at insects under microscopes. I felt tired at the end of the day

On Tuesday, it was museum day. My group saw a very old chair and we saw a lot of flags. Then we went to the music room and we used the questions. I had fun using the questions. Then we ate lunch. The insects had 6 legs, but not all people know insects have 6 legs. I know an ant is an insect. My favourite insects were the beetles and visiting the old classroom. I love the museum because there is a lot of interesting things.  I felt very happy. Then I went on the bus.

I saw an old classroom and I saw some dinosaur bones. I saw a tree house and I went inside the tree house. Inside the tree house there was a gorilla. I saw an elephant but it was not a real elephant. I saw a shaking house and I went inside. I felt so happy because it was fun at the museum.

Cool Insect Adventure

On Tuesday, the 8th of March all the year 2's went to the Auckland Museum to learn about insects. We saw a big bomb and it looked like a rocket. Then we went to see the volcano movie. Our group saw a plane with Harrison's group. After that we ate lunch and went to the Weird and Wonderful area. There were really cool butterflies in the drawers. There were also cool, shiny butterflies. There were blue butterflies too, they were my favourite butterfly. I felt happy.

Then we went to Weird and Wonderful. I felt very happy because the trip was so much fun.
