It's Winter time, so we have been using descriptive language to write stories and poetry about the stormy weather.
Room 24 shared their learning about shadows and the rotation of the sun.
Room 19 learnt about Matariki, the Maori New Year. We made pictures illustrating Matariki, the seven sisters (stars) shining above Rangitoto.

Designing, Planning, Assessment and Presentation

Before making our Robots we made a plan of what the Robot could look like and listed the materials needed. After making our Robots, we photographed them and assessed what we liked about our Robot and what we would change next time.
We wrote imaginary stories about our Robots and published them to share.
We presented our work to Mrs Driver and other classes.

Room 19 and Room 11's Junior Assembly

The Junior School were eager and ready to watch our Assembly presentation.

Room 19 students worked collaboratively in groups writing unique 'Innovations' (altered stories) using the Hairy Maclary story template. Our characters were cats with interesting names. There was a lot of rhyme and repetition in our stories.
Here are two of the groups proudly presenting their work.
